My work has always dealt with emotional susceptibilities and our relationship to the world. Lodged awkwardly between photography and performance art, the series ‘Performances’ includes staged sequences to recreate actions.
The sequential format enables still images to function as animated objects whilst allowing a slower reading of specific moments so that ideas around the images can flow.
Directly influenced by Muybridge, Arnatt and Baldessari, these pieces playfully explore how the mood of a person can be physically and metaphorically masked.
